Common Questions
Everything you need to know about forest bathing, nature retreats, and exploring Czech wilderness
Spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) are ideal—you'll see migrating birds and active wildlife during these seasons. Summer works too, but early mornings give you better chances to spot lynx, deer, and golden eagles without crowds.
No experience needed—forest bathing isn't hiking or exercise. It's about slowing down, using your senses, and spending 20-30 minutes noticing details: the smell of pine needles, sounds of birds, light filtering through leaves. Anyone can do it, and it's genuinely calming once you get the hang of it.
Lipno Lake's eastern shore and Vltava River spots near Český Krumlov stay quieter than popular spots. Smaller lakes like Plešné Lake near Šumava offer fewer crowds and better nature connection. Check our lakeside guide for specific coordinates and seasonal access info.
We break everything down: what to pack, how to identify common birds and plants, safety basics, and navigation tips. Our guides include difficulty ratings, trail conditions, and what to expect weather-wise. You're not going in blind—we've already explored these places and written what actually works.
Lynx sightings are rare but real—we've documented them in Šumava. More reliably, you'll spot red deer, boar, various eagles, and smaller mammals. We teach you how to recognize signs (tracks, scat, feeding marks) so you understand what's around you, even if you don't see the animal directly.
You'll learn topographic map reading, seasonal trail conditions, water source locations, weather patterns, and basic safety protocols for different times of year. It's designed so you can confidently explore the region without a guide and know what to do if conditions change.
